Plaid shirt, straw poking out, and a stitched smile.
Halloween night is cold in most of the country, and a costume that only works over a t-shirt fails by the second block.
Every costume below is built to layer: cloaks over coats, fuzzy suits over sweats, hoods and hats that hold real warmth. Each one lists exactly what you need and links to a full build guide with real hands-on time.

Want one email on Oct 27 with costumes you can make that night? That’s it, one email, then you’re off the list.

The Fuzzy Monster and the Penguin Huddle. Both are full sweatsuits with hoods, so they take a thermal layer and gloves with nothing showing. The Astronaut covers head to toe as well.
Yes. The Little Lion and the Penguin Huddle are built for small kids, with hoods instead of masks and room for a warm layer under the costume on the coldest nights.
