Baby Dinosaur
⏱ 20 min hands-onEasy
You need: Green hoodie, 1; 2 sheets green craft felt, 9x12 inches each; Pillow stuffing or 2 old socks; Safety pins, 6 to
Green hoodie, felt spikes down the back, stuffed tail.
Short answer: the hood is the head. Whatever the hoodie color suggests, felt finishes. A green hoodie plus felt spikes taped and pinned down the back is a baby dinosaur in 20 minutes. A gray hoodie with one felt fin is a little shark in 25. A blue hoodie and two pipe cleaners make the blue alien in 30, and a set of colored hoodies with masks turns a whole crew into web heroes in 30. All four builds are no-sew: the extras attach with tape, safety pins, or paint, and the hoodie survives the night. Red and black hoodies plus masks. Pick your spider. Spider-Verse inspired for the whole crew.
Pick by color first. Green reads dinosaur or alien, gray reads shark, blue reads alien or hero, red and black read web hero. The color does the first half of the job.
Add one felt shape. Spikes, a fin, or ears cut from a sheet of craft felt. One shape, big enough to read from across the room.
Attach without sewing. Tape the shape in place to test it, then pin from inside the hoodie so the pins hide. The Baby Dinosaur guide uses exactly this: tape first, then 6 to 8 safety pins.
Use the hood. Hood up, it carries the head of the costume. Hood down, it is just a hoodie again, which is why these builds work for kids who bail on hats and masks.

No. All four builds are no-sew. Felt pieces attach with masking tape and safety pins, the alien antennae are pipe cleaners, and the web hero look finishes with bought or felt masks.
Safety pins leave pinholes you will not see after a wash, and masking tape comes off clean. The dinosaur build pins from inside the hoodie, so nothing shows in photos.
The Baby Dinosaur at 20 minutes of hands-on time: felt spikes down the back, tape, pins, and two stuffed socks for the tail. The shark takes 25 and the other two take 30.
Every guide here lists a thrifted hoodie as a fine starting point, and thrift stores stock every color. Or flip the plan: a black hoodie is one of the bases for the Web Hero Crew.
