Yellow sweatsuit with a green felt stem hat.

You need

Yellow sweatshirt and sweatpants, 1 set (make: from closet, or buy: clothing store)
Green felt, 1 sheet 9x12 inches (buy: craft store)
Headband, 1 (buy: dollar store)
Fabric glue, 1 tube (buy: craft store)

Put on the yellow sweatshirt and sweatpants.
Cut a stem shape from green felt, about 4 inches tall.
Hold the stem against the headband and check the position in a mirror BEFORE gluing, once fabric glue sets, the stem cannot be moved. Glue the stem to the headband and let it dry flat.
Wear the headband. You are a banana.
Optional pro finish: glue a small brown felt rectangle at the bottom front of the sweatshirt as the banana tip. Top and bottom details make it read as banana, not yellow sweats.

How big should the banana stem be?: About 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide. Bigger looks cartoonish in a good way; smaller disappears.
Can I make this with zero shopping?: Yes if you own yellow sweats: cut the stem from a green t-shirt or paper bag painted green, and tape it to any headband or hat.
