You need

• 1 vest or sleeveless jacket you own (own)
• 1 sheet green craft felt, 9x12 inches (buy: craft store; construction paper works too)
• 1 blank badge or pin (buy: office supply aisle)
• Fabric glue, 1 tube (buy: craft store)
• Marker, 1
• Scissors, 1 pair

Steps

1. Buy the green craft felt, blank badge, and fabric glue.
2. Cut one paper spike first and hold it against the vest shoulder to check the size, about 3 inches tall. Cut 6 to 8 triangle spikes from the green craft felt with the scissors using the paper template. Uniform spikes look designed; freehand spikes look ragged.
3. Glue the spikes along the vest shoulders and back. Let dry 15 minutes.
4. Write 'Emotional Support Dinosaur. Do not pet.' on the badge with the marker.
5. Pin it on and refuse all pets.
6. Optional pro finish: write 'Emotional Support Dinosaur' in all caps on the badge, then add 'Do not pet.' underneath in smaller letters. The official-looking hierarchy sells the joke.

Yes if you glue the night before so it cures fully. Same-day glue is still tacky by party time and spikes slide.
