You need
- Solid-color outfits in fruit colors (red, yellow, green, orange), 1 set per person (own)
- Green felt for leaf hats, 1 sheet 9x12 inches per person (buy: craft store)
- Headbands, 1 per person (buy: dollar store)
- Fabric glue, 1 tube (buy: craft store)
Steps
- Each person picks a fruit and wears that color head to toe. Red for strawberry, yellow for banana, green for lime, orange for orange.
- Cut leaf shapes from green felt.
- Glue one leaf to each headband and let it set fully before wearing. Glued leaves cannot be repositioned, so center each leaf on the band and press for 30 seconds.
- Everyone wears their headband. Take a group photo as the fruit salad.
- Optional pro finish: snip a center vein down each felt leaf with the scissors. The vein makes flat felt read as a real leaf in photos.

Common questions
- How many fruits make a good salad?
- Four to six. Three looks thin, more than six gets hard to photograph. Assign the biggest person the watermelon.
- How do you keep the leaf hats on?
- Glue the leaf to the front-center of the headband and let it set fully. A leaf glued off-center flops forward all night.
