- Red top, 1 (own, or buy: thrift store)
- Blue shorts or skirt, 1 (own)
- Gold craft foam for cuffs, 1 sheet (buy: craft store)
- Gold star stickers, 1 pack (buy: craft store)
- Red headband, 1 (own, or buy: dollar store)
- Gold and red non-toxic face paint, 1 set (buy: toy store)
- Scissors, 1 pair
Tip: cut a gold star from leftover foam and glue it to the headband. The headband star is the photo moment.
Steps
- Pull on the red top and the blue shorts or skirt.
- Cut two wide cuffs from the gold craft foam and tape them closed around the wrists.
- Stick gold star stickers across the red top and one on each cheek.
- Safety: keep face paint clear of the eyes, and keep the foam cuffs loose enough to slide a finger underneath.
- Paint one bold stripe of red and gold across one cheek, then pull on the red headband.
- Optional pro finish: cut a gold star from leftover foam and glue it to the headband. The headband star is the photo moment.

What if I cannot find gold craft foam?
Cut the cuffs from cardboard and cover them in gold stickers or yellow tape. The shape reads as cuffs before the color does.
How do the cuffs stay on?
Tape each cuff into a loose tube that slides over the hand. Snug enough to stay, loose enough to slide off fast.
