You need

• White t-shirt or sweatshirt, 1 (own: from closet)
• Yellow or cream yarn, 1 skein (buy: craft store)
• Brown pom-poms, 2 inch, 3 to 4 (buy: craft store)
• Fabric glue or hot glue gun, 1 (buy: craft store)
• Scissors, 1 pair

Steps

1. Lay the white shirt flat.
2. Lay out the yarn strands on the shirt first WITHOUT glue to check the wavy rows cover the shirt the way you want. Then cut the yarn into 12-inch strands and glue them across the shirt in wavy rows to look like spaghetti, since glued strands cannot be repositioned.
3. Glue 3-4 brown pom-poms on top as meatballs.
4. Let dry completely before wearing.
5. Optional pro finish: glue a few small white pom-poms among the yarn as grated parmesan, and add a red felt meatball-sauce splatter on one sleeve.

Common questions

Can you wash the shirt after?

No. The glued yarn does not survive the washing machine. Treat it as a single-use costume shirt, so use a thrifted one you do not mind retiring.

How long does the glue need to dry?

Let it dry completely before wearing, at least 1 hour for fabric glue. Lay it flat while drying so the yarn rows do not slide.
